View Full Version : Unable to install from box cd
I've read many posts and it seems this is a problem many people have. I've tried deleting local content from steam, going to the DVD, right click, open, then setup. The only setup I see is the steam setup. Am I missing something? Everytime I uninstall, then reinstall steam wants to download the game instead of finishing the actual installation from the cd. Please help!

Are you fully uninstalling the game before trying to reinstall (and why do you need to do this?)? It would appear whatever you are doing, Steam is assuming a repair. If you want to install totally new from the disks, you may have to fully uninstall both Civ V and Steam uisng Windows and then start from scratch. And then once you log in to Steam again using your current account data, you will get all the updates downloaded both for the game and for Steam.

I have the same problem,i have uninstall both the game and steam,delete the files in "my programs",emety the recycle bin and then restart my pc and start everything and still stuck with only steam and there is nothing on the cd or the file where the game ( steam ) install to to start the game so what to do ???

Worst installer EVER!!! I have disliked Steam for years, always a pain. Now I can't even install my new purchase because of Steam. Great move Firaxis! You had me, then you lost me. Keep my money, I learned my lesson.

I am having the same problem and i have no idea how to install the game onto my computer, i just get steam and then steam downloads the game that should already be on the disk. And when i try to play it through steam it crashes. This is suppose to be a local game on your computer that you only need steam for initial setup.
