Coulld a Mario Platorm game be more X-COM than XCOM???
During my lunchtime youtubin' I came across this... though you folks might get a kick out of it.
I dig it.
Good to see they kept the music & sound effects... they even have the weapons for christ sake...

No info in a year is a little hard to keep this forum churning along...
I like the ability to pick up and throw sonic pulsars and the different weapons (never seen Mario use a gun before). Seems to have some influences from the Metal Slug games. Also, nice little cameo of the shocktroopers from Half Life: Opposing Force.
Wow. Next time I play TFTD I'm naming an aquanaut "Mario."
When the popper came running out, who else thought, "Poppers gonna Pop?"
That was great. I also recognized one of the aliens from Alien Carnage, and one of the aliens and a gun from Blake Stone, plus the HL aliens. All that delicious nostalgia.
The sad part is that this is still more X-Com than XCOM is yes.
