Which would be the better CPU to run this game (assuming the RAM size is 2 GB in both cases, and the video cards are 2 7950GTs in SLI):
The Intel Core 2 Duo e6600
The AMD Athlon 64 FX-57
Both CPUs being compared will be run at stock speeds as well.
I use q6600 Core Duo 2 2.40ghz I think that just good for you machine I think
I mean e6600 sorry
the core 2 duo by a long shot.
the slowest core 2 duo or even the slowest X2 will easily beat the fastest single core in Bioshock

I'm upgrading from an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe, AMD Athlon 64 FX-57, and 2 GB Corsair XMS DDR (2-3-3-6) to an ASUS Striker Extreme, Intel Core 2 Duo e6600, and 2 GB Corsair XMS DDRII (4-4-4-12).
I currently score 13,000+ in 3DMark05 with the Athlon 64 FX-57, etc. paired with 2 512 MB BFG 7950GTs in SLI.
My Bioshock performance is very good, once I get it running, but I unfortunately have to disable the high detail shaders to make the game load into a level and be stable.
I haven't tried the nVidia ForceWare BETA 163.67 drivers yet and have been using the 163.44 ones since Bioshock was released.
