    FORMAT
    1.) Two Divisions - Broken down by random draw. (If one division looks weighted I reserve the right to switch one player)
    2.) I would like to have 5-6 players per division
    3.) Scheduled matches, showing who you play each week. Each week should be played as a double header. (You will play 2 sets of games with each opponent in your division and the alternate division once)
    a.) Note1: Each week during the season will consist of one week in real life. All games of each week must be played by midnight EST on Sunday for the scheduled week
    b.) Note2: Feel free to advance play your games if you know you are going to be away.
    c.) Note3: If you fail to play a scheduled game by the deadline, without presenting notice of your absence, you will be issued a warning and your delayed match will be subject to forfeit. If you have not completed the games by the following weeks deadline forfeits will be issued. (One set of games a week isn't a lot of time to invest, if you're going to be gone try to play one ahead of time, or give notice that you will be unavailable and need an extension.)
    4.) The League is expected to be approximately 15 weeks depending on amount of players allowing you to play each person in your division twice and the alternate division once.(subject to change-season could be shortened as a trial run based on player vote)
    5.) At the half-way point of the season, there will be a chance for everyone to have some input and dialogue to see if anything needs to be changed.

    CIV SELECTION

    Civ selection will be theme based and the themes will change on a weekly basis. Any civ can be chosen once per week of allowed civs under that weeks theme. I will post themes 6 at a time or so in advance every 6 weeks.

    Example themes: Many of the king titles will be weekly themes. Additional themes could consist of certain mirror matches like whos the best Mongol or whos the Best America player. Or popular match-ups like the Zulu v China or England V Arabs could be themes. Ideas for themes will be accepted and appreciated.

    END OF SEASON CHAMPIONSHIPS
    1. After the seeding for the tournament the qualifying players will vote on themes for the tournament rounds.
    2. At the end of the season each Division will have a 1st seed(a best of 3 playoff will settle a tie due to the wild card format)
    3. There will be a wild card game(best of 3) between the 2nd and 3rd ranked players in each division. The winners of the wild card games will play the 1st seed of their division in a best of 5 for the Division Champion.
    4. The 2 Division Champions will play a single match All-Star game for hosting rights(winner hosts first giving them a slight advantage)
    5. The 2 division champions will play in a best of 7 match for the first ever xbox 360 Civ League Classic World Champion.

    AWARDS
    1. Possible awards include Longest Winning Streak, Best Comeback, Best non-Dom Win, Best game, and Fastest total Domination victory
    2. 1 Bonus win could be added for winning an award(this will be voted on by players after sign-up before League play opens)

    RULES and ADMISSION
    1. No players who have held up a previous tournament or non forum members will be admitted. If you are slow, sorry but this isn't for you. You should play civ 3 nights a week hopefully to play this League unless you expect to get lots of forfeits.
    2. Forfeits are frowned upon, they lessen the quality of victory and squibble the tournament somewhat.
    3. Rules are the same as RR Bracket style tournaments
    4. Restarts are only required if one player starts on a 10 tile island or less(otherwise at your opponents discression). Restarts should be called by 3700BC out of courtesy to your OP. Peace should be made by the requested before quitting so verification, as per Mawpawks request, can be made.
    5. If any league decision needs to be made that would involve me(making it a conflict of interest) 2 peers from the opposite division will be asked to mediate.

    What if you walked around and saw it was an island how will they be able to verify it. Also like I said, if I am over 80% sure I am on an Island I will call it.

    If they really don't trust you they could build a galley and take a look. Most people would take your word for it I think.

    K there are some weird Islands though... My game V.S. point I was over 90% sure I was on an island but I agreed to play it out anyways because it would've taken to long for me to figure it out, turned out I wasn't, there was 1 tile connecting me to the mainland at the very top lol. Luckily and I ended up winning. In my game with Scottie there was no way to tell unless I walked around the whole island, there was only one sea tile separating me from the mainland so it goes both ways. Don't want to be called a liar if I call an island and it happens to not be one... If I am over 80% sure I will call it...

    You obviously missed the point, I said 10 tile islands only, there is a reason for that, your original map will show you that you are on a 10 tile island so its not hard to tell. Thats why I said call it by 3700 BC. By that time there is no way you wont know its a ten tile island. If you BS you get the loss. Besides, unless you man up and join it doesnt matter......

    I'll play if I'm allowed. My available is the same as always, weeknights US time and spotty weekends. If that's not good enough, no big deal, I understand. Usually it's just the Euro players that are hard to schedule.

    Both you guys have spotty schedules, duke is limited and prey is out of town a lot. Since you only have to meet up one night a week for a double header I will add you both, but dont hold it against me if you get the occasional forfeit for unavailablitiy. I dont think it should be much of a problem, you both managed to get your games in the 8man tourney.


    .....still hoping to hear from Maw and REM.....we have lots of talent in this so far....that would be the icing on the cake.....

    Yea bro....here is an excert from the rules:

    Restarts are only required if one player starts on a 10 tile island or less(otherwise at your opponents discression). Restarts should be called by 3700BC out of courtesy to your OP. Peace should be made by the requested before quitting so verification, as per Mawpawks request, can be made.


    Most other tournaments say 7, but like I say its up to your opponents discression, if you ask for a restart against me personally on anything smaller than a 20 tile island in the first 3 turns and ill give it to you....The only thing you are required to restart for in this league is 10 tiles.....

    but you better be 100% if you want to request a reset for a bigger island. tell your opponent and then walk until you see all the coastline. it wouldn't be cool to snake somebodies collosus or walk-in unless you are sure.

    Well usually I am pretty sure when I start, I misstated it. I said I will call it if I am over 80% sure, I meant I will call that I am probably on an island if I am over 80% sure I always confirm it but sometimes you can't in the time frame your given that is what I meant to say...

    Hey forum can we count on your buddy to be in and available for the whole season? He would have to be a forum member to play.....Has he done any of the previous tournaments?

    Well Im cutting it off at 12 people....if he wants in he has to sign up himself.....if no1 else has signed up before tomorrow Im going to go ahead and start this thing with 11 people.....5 in one division and 6 in the other.....

    Ill be honest its against my better judgement because when this happens it usually holds things up. Recent examples are President in the 8 man tourney.

    But prey vouched for you and you got on awfully quick after I said you had to be a member to sign up so Ill give you the benefit of the doubt. Welcome to the league ade.

    So thats 12, Ill be closing registration. Ill make the divisions sometime today. I tried it once last night drawing out of a hat and the best 5 players in my opinion were in the same division so I need to try again.

    no wonder others call island much more than me. I only call island if I KNOW I am on an island and only when that island is tiny (ie i can tell in the first couple of turns walking so yeah about 10 tiles or less. even if I cant see any mountains nearby I'm close to the pole - there is only one possible exit and ai are all on the other side of the planet (boarders on mountains) i'd still not call it unless I knew.

    I actually got killed in a game vs smeone like REM once because i assumed it was a small island and then he came across the tiny land bridge and killed me heh
