Sorry I know there already are atleast 3 threads about this - but they are filled with nonsense and off-topic comments. I only registered to find out if I'll be able to play Bioshock on my computer. I have been watching Bioshock for quite a while eagerly awaiting info on whether I will get the chance to play.
I'm not really knowledgeable at technical stuff but here is
My system (just bought it a few months ago):
Gateway GT5268E with Intel VIIV
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional (vista ready)
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 6 GenuineIntel ~1864 Mhz
Total Physical Memory 2,048.00 MB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 7600 GS
Please only answer if you are someone who actually knows or has a legit reason for posting, i'm sure there are other people like me that don't want to dig through the 20 page threads.
Thanks ahead of time - I just want to know if I'm wasting my time awaiting Bioshock.
Well I hope someone answers your question before this thread is closed.
The 7600 GS is a slow video card. You would be able to run the game, but probably only at 1024x768 with the settings turned down. You also probably want about 2.5ghz from the processor for optimal performance.
If you want to upgrade it all comes down to how big your budget is...
What about the 7900 GS?
