Finally! No more crashes on XP w/ 7900gtx
AMD Athalon dual core 4400+ 2.3ghz
Win XP SP2 (all the fixings)
Asus en7900gtx graphics card
2 gigs ram
Creative XtremeGamer Pro sound card
BioShock settings: Pretty much all ramped up to max levels.
I was able to play through the first level or so with maybe 1-2 crashes (still, way too many) and then started getting a series of nasty crashes (BSOD) within minutes whenever I started up the game. Essentially, BioShock became nothing more than space on my hard drive, aka, useless!
From the kind post by Rebel5TX, I made 1 simple change to the default.ini file and now everything seems to be running great! No hint of a BSOD anywhere.

Thanks to everyone who continues to find resolutions for the current wave of crashes.
Cheers to you all!
I see no value in the common theme to correct a crash: Upgrade your video drivers to the latest build.
Why should we upgrade to the latest build? Wasn't the game developed prior to the most recent drivers being released (don't answer that, it was a rhetorical question).
