Hey everyone! im new to these forums, but im happy to be here. Its nice to see a section of the forums specifically for asking the devs questions.! I am really interested in the level design of things on not only bioshock, but all games. I really want to become a level designer someday, and have a few questions!
1.) Being a 9th grader, what would you suggest i do to give me some expierience with level design? (im somwhat familiar with ue3.)
2.) What type of schooling would i need to get into the games industry these days?
3.) Is their anyway i could get bioshock static meshes into the gears editor if i purchased this game for pc?
Thanks for the time!
EDIT: i was also wondering if it would be ok that i post pictures of my multiplayer gears map when im done working on it.
Unless they contain boobs, your Gears maps should be fine.
If anyone asks, you could also give us a link to where we might download the levels (assuming this is for the PC).
well my modded character is a naked chick. lol

Remember, when making a portfolio (when applying for a job) be sure to have kept all of your works (even these edited multi player maps) and things you make from scratch, etc. so you can impress the people who are considerting hiring you.
yea true. i havnt really gotten around to learning modeling or anything, so there isnt anything custom in my maps. i should probably do that though. do you use the unreal editor?
No sorry. I don't PC game anymore.
And when I did I don't think I even knew anything about how to mod stuff.
ohh ok. how come you gave up pc gaming? i just got into it and am really liking it so far. i also have a 360 which i play other games on.
I am too lazy to make it better than the year 2000 PC it was born to be. =P
I agree, it is fun. And for a long time I defended my PC preferences with enough furver to make any fanboy tremble! Well, sorta.
But anyway, I just decided to go 360, because of some issues with my last attempted upgrade.
do the developers ever look on these forums?
They do, but they're usually really busy.
I wouldn't expect a reply soon.
i finally got my gaming pc hooked up to the internet so here is a picture of my map in progress. this map isnt done yet, i still have to add some cool lighting effects, add cover nodes, and figure out the weapon placement.
Tell me what you think!
