    Hyper wave relay bugged?

So i am at the part of the game again where you just finish the base mission get the beacon and research the hyperwave relay now i'm all set to build the relay but the problem is it says it needs 2 hyperwave beacons to construct the relay but i only have 1 hyperwave beacon and i have done this on another save before and didn't have this issue been shooting down ufo's trying to find another beacon but i'm assuming you only get it from the base mission i'm running out of options now because i can't proceed with the story without building this stupid relay...

I got a screen shot also of the problem..

That's a first. It always says 1 for me. Even if you choose "Rush Construction" it doens't jump to 2. This is definitely a bug.

yea sucks seems like a gamebreaker lol i was trying to find a solution by using cheat engine or some hex editor to just edit it to 1 hyper beacon or give myself another one somehow instead of starting all over again

Having the same issue and looking for a solution. Out of curiosity, are you playing "marathon" option in Second Wave?

It is a bug with the Second Wave mod, Marathon is one of the few options that it is "broken", broken meaning you need two Hyperwave Beacons. The game does not offer the chance to get two of these beacons even with the Marathon option turned on.

Shame, was doing so well (Ironman Mode, Classic)

I hope they fix it in a patch, I find the normal game goes too fast. The speed for Marathon was a lot more fun.

I also know this feel, though I wish I had tried to build the hyperwave relay hours ago instead of building/researching/upgrading all my soldiers. Never knowing that all this time there was no way for me TO build the relay since I'm playing on marathon as well.

Is there a way to spawn another base? Or somehow edit another beacon in to your base's inventory? Or change the save file/second wave files to only require one beacon?

Someone found a fix for this, by the way:

The workaround is as follows. After you defeat the alien base, when you attempt to make the hyperwave beacon the game will tell you that you need x2 hyperbeacons to make the facility which is impossible to get since there is only one in the game. You will have to edit the .mod file and look for "SW_MARATHON=2.0f" . Set it to "SW_MARATHON=1.0f" , load the game, make the facility, save and close the game then edit the file back to 2.0f.

wow i feel so stupid i was thinking about trying that but was afraid it would corrupt the save and i ended up just deleting it and starting over... but thanks anyway at least others can find this thread and solve the issue.
