Rapture Radio (Fan Music)
I will try to create some sounds, inspired by Bioshock. I think of ambient music.
If you have songs/music inspired by Bioshock - Link it here!

Well, I don't know about creating anything (I AM MUSICALLY CHALLANGED) but I've had Bioshock and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (by Judy Garland was it?) matching up together for a while now.
On another note, I love Akira Yamak...uh something...the guy that composes Silent Hill and it would be interesting to hear his metal scrapes and such here.
However, i love the game the way it is now, and would not change the music. I'll probably play some of the sounds I'm talking of on my second play through.
Oh, and it would be great to hear what you come up with,
Jacques Cousteau's nightmare
Nothing like whale song turned into a garbled cry for help from the depths.
Lawnmower engines as machine gun drive trains.
Elevator Muzak is a MUST if you're familiar with System Shock.
The 'Clack,Clack,Clack' of high heels combined with the squeal of fish hooks scraping against ceramic tiles.
Busted reel to reel tape player skipping to a cathedral echo.
Of course enough ambient running water sounds to coerce you into multiple trips to the toilet.
Should be an interesting experiment in foley work.
I'll definitely be interested in hearing what anyone can come up with..
@witch: Yeah, I wanna make my firs step into composing with this creation, inspired by Rapture's sounds (Water, whale sounds, machines...) and mix it up with sound loops like Akira Yamaoka has used them.
I already have a collection of free sounds from the web (elevator is in *g*), but I need more .

That could be a really humorous touch if traveling between really intense firefights.

I was thinking of composing some stuff, all spooky and watery-deus ex under water is my cue!
Ok, not really fan made music, and I already posted this in the fan Video thread, but to me Beyond the Sea is the BioShock tune to beat all others.
As for the topic, I used to compose some ambient stuff, but not so much now. I might try my hand at writing a 40's style swing song, though. That could be fun. I've done one before, and I've been practicing a lot of early-ish jazz lately.

Awesome logo for an awesome thread, I'll be eagerly awaiting the sounds!
I always listen to ambience for my work, really can't wait to sample them . . . .
Nice one . . . .
I can create a flash player if you need it...
Akira Yamaoka is a genius, I'd love he teamed up with ken levine to make an amazing game
The last song on our first EP is actually inspired by Bioshock, although it features samples from Thief 2.
I can give you a direct link if you want.
"sing sing sing" by louis prima (or some other guy that everybody gives credit to. great jazz number
Playing Phantom Crash I've learned that I love really gentle, calm, simple ambiance for action games. There's just something about that combination that really works. Also, if the music's too hectic and too complex I find too much of my attention turns to 'decoding' and deconstructing it, which really takes my concentration off of the game. Hectic music makes me play erratically also. Simple, calm, gentle ambiance for action games FTW.
