BioShock: graphic's look weird....
I get passed the frist cutscene when the plane crashes...then i hear coughing and sceaming in the backround and the press w,a,s,d thing comes up, and theres a bunch of blocks with fire in them and the graphics look weird, and i can't see though all that **** to see were to go ....any help

you didn't post your videocard info which is the most important part. I'm inclined to think that you have an integrated chipset and not an actual videocard though.

This sounds like behavior with an ATI Shader Model 2.0 card.
The Inspiron 1521 comes with either an ATI Radeon Xpress X1270 or an Intel GMA X3100.
If it were the Intel GMA, it would just crash, I think.
The Xpress 1270 is, I believe, based on the Radeon X700 graphics chipset.
This card will not natively support Bioshock. If you want to get the full Bioshock experience, you will need a new graphics card, which means a new laptop.
However, if you cannot or do not wish to upgrade at this time, you can try one of the Shader Model 2.0b (not just SM2.0) fixes generated by the ShaderShock Project.
