Should We Be Able or Will We Be Able To Save BIG Sisters?
As far as story line is concerned I have often wondered why Jack was never allowed to try to save a splicer using the exorcism plasmid. Now one can say that the Little Sisters can be saved because of the slug being implanted in them... would it be possible to save the Big Sisters? I mean, I would feel bad slaughtering them if they were merely under the "spell" of Lamb....?
Not that this is mentioned in the title... but was anyone else bothered killing splicers? Don't get me wrong, I loved hacking at a spider splicer with a wrench... its just when you see them dancing or singing or just trying to be human and you consider the moral implications seen throughout the rest of the game it seems out of balance. Without killing them there is no game, I get that... it is just odd from a story perspective I think that they be given such a "human" feel... even an "innocent" feel until you sneak up on them or start shooting at them...

I doubt Tenebaum has the means to recreate the "Exocism Plasmid" for Delta she probably had one doseage and that she gave it to Jack.
all the footage shows the big sister attacking Delta on sight, you have to kill her or she will kill you. I think from the developers point of view she has chosen to become a big sister and in turn chosen to protect the ADAM ecology for whatever reason, you can choose not to confront her in the same way you could choose not to confront the big daddies by not trying to get the little sisters.
It's a neat idea but it contradicts the purpose of the big sister.
Hmmm, as interesting as that would be, I just don't see it happening until the very end of the game. I mean, with the other Big Sisters you really aren't given that option. They screech, they give you a minute, and then they spawn and attack you on sight.
As for the splicers, I did usually kill them up to right before the final battle before I did some backtracking. After that, I usually didn't shoot unless shot at... especially because none of them seem to notice you anymore. It makes for fun observation, and pranks of course. Much as I would have liked to have gone up to them and had a chat, the game mechanics just don't allow you.
Saving Big Sisters, it would be nice but very strange. I think they just don't want to be saved because they will pay the highest price to protect Rapture's Ecology.
And saving Splicers is something I always wanted to do. It's just that they are controlled by pheromones and will attack you on sight, at least in BioShock 1. Otherwise I would've saved some.

You have the right to live me dear Splicer, unless you choose to try to take that right away from ME. And well, we always see that I'm the winner.
It would be kinda cool if you could I guess to be able to save Big Sisters. Thing is they don't rely on big daddies to help them, so it would be much harder to save them.
I didn't feel bad killing splicers. They were just drugged up animals that didn't have much purpose except for getting Adam. Maybe I'm just that heartless

i dont think so as they try to kill you it will be hard to rescue them
Does anyone know if Big Sisters are grafted into their suits like Big Daddies? If so, then you probably wouldn't be able to save them as you would need to remove the suit.
Ah, good point I hadn't thought of that. I don't have evidence to back it up but I assume that they are grafted. Although I can't say for sure.

Originally when there was one Big-Sister I had thought the mechanic would be SURVIVAL of her attacks early on. Once she jacks your little-sister she will leave you be, .. well she might rain doom on you for a while, but eventually run off. When you got the necessary weapons and plasmids, you could take the fight to her, and eventually kill her.
But now that there are multiple Big-Sisters, I wonder if the duration of attack is still present, or if it's kill or be killed. If she does run off eventually, we may find that we don't HAVE to kill Big-Sisters. Seeing as they were once little-sister's, that, if you were good in the first game, you spent so much time trying to save. Maybe 2K will present us with a passive decision. If we don't HAVE to kill Big-Sister (again, assuming she runs off) why WOULD we (other than loot)?...
Maybe if you just survive all the encounters, loose your little-sister to the kidnapping big-sister, and thus some potential ADAM, maybe then, at the end you can save the Big-Sister's you left alive. And if you left all of them alive, well, maybe there's an ending in it.
i think it would be cool to save the big sisters..but...then what would they do? run off in fear of what they became?
I would love to save the big sisters and everyone else. A hypno tonic, an excorcism tonic and an old school RPG system with a party system. Could you imagine recruiting an army of splicers? Pick a faction...big sisters or big daddies? Serioulsly, in Bioshock 2 the big sisters will need to die.
