Can't even start playing!
I purchased this game on Steam and haven't yet been able to play it
When I launch the game, it goes to a blank screen and gets stuck there... then crashes when I go to task manager.
Intel Core i5 750 2.67ghz
Anybody have any ideas on what I can try to get it working?

I've been playing Lemmings in DOSbox cause I'm jonesing for puzzles, what the hell guys? Game crashes instantly, no Events in the eventlog, basic XP install, hardware more than adequate, all other Steam games run fine. I don't even get a blank window, just one that minimizes itself and closes. I'm not gonna do your work for ya for $5.00, i just wanna play.

Crash on start up
I am having the same problems. Winterbottom launches, in the control bar at the bottom of the screen I see there is supposed to be a window open, but nothing is showing. Then the control bar is empty and we are finished playing the game. Steam even shows that I played the game the last time I launched it, but I never even saw an opening screen. Steam support says to contact 2K, but they don't respond. They are not even reading these posts. I guess that says somenthing about 2K. It also says something about me paying $5 for a game and expecting it to actually work.

But it didn't work for me. I have solved it this way: Find the game’s folder. This is typically at C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\winterbottom. Go to winterbottom.exe-> click right mouse button -> properties -> compatibility -> run as administrator. You can also change compatibility mode. For me it works.
