I've been married to a theologist for twenty plus years,in that time I've spoken to and read about hundreds of peoples experiences that they just could not explain, everything from restless spirits to Alien abduction to EVP-does anyone have anything they would like to share? I'm not a pure sceptic,I consider myself a scientific agnostic, but some of the things I have experienced defy logical scientific explanation, most unsettling of all was a house I visited that had been cleansed,(a type of exorcism)no one was present except myself and the occupant, yet the sound of something or someone could clearly be heard stamping across the ceiling with what sounded like extremely heavy boots,of course upon inspection nothing was found,To my knowledge its occupant later sufferd a breakdown. The building has since been converted into flats.
well you must know the stories of 50 Berkeley square

here is one thing i read about i'll post it as its written
The sailor sent on an errand to his captains cabin got a shock when he opened the door. A strange man was poised over the log book, holding a quill pen. As the sailor challenged him, the intruder simply vanashed.
When the captain was told of the incident, he checked the book, and found a curious plea written in an unknown hand: "Steer to the north-east."
The ship, ploughing through the north atlantic off the Canadian coast during the 19th century, changed course as instructed, and within hours came across a ship in danger of sinking.
As the crew helped survivors aboard, the sailor recognised one of them as the figure he had seen writing in the log book. He was asked to write the words again. The specimens matched exactly.
I love it,of course though if you wanted to be cynical, you could pick many holes in the fabric of the story, not least the identity of the mysterious author of the note.Facial recognition is widely regarded to be one of the least credible forms of indentification(perhaps we are all monkeys and look the same!)-However its a cracking little yarn.thankyou
Here it is
The deadliest spectrial killer of all time was the 19th century phantom of 50 Berkeley Square, London. No one knows what it was, because few who saw it lived to tell the tail. And who did survive were generally reduced to incoherence by fright.
One of its victims included a girl maid of a family renting the house who died in hospital after being found crumpled on the floor, whimpering: 'dont let it touch me.'
And two sailors (Edward Blunden & Robert Martin) looking for free lodgings seen the for let sign, they looked for a suitable room and martin fell asleep but Blunden was nervious, as he lay awake he heard strange footsteps coming towards the door he awoke martin and told him and the two men watched fearfully as the door slowly opened and something large, dark and shapeless entered.
The thing went For Blunden trapping him and martin made his escape, he told a police officer what had happend and they rushed back, but they were too late. The shattered body of Blunden lay on the basement stairs, his neck broken and his face fixed in a terrified grimace.
yes! but how would anyone know that the ship was in trouble in the first place?

I've been in hundreds of situations where tonnes of people have claimed paranormal events occured and never experianced anything relatively paranormal. Most famous of these situations is what is known as "screaming tunnel" on the outskirts of Niagara Falls;
Backstory: The general lore surrounding this location revolves around a house located on the un-occupied side of the tunnel (the tunnel itself is roughly 50-65 feet long and I'd say about 12 feet tall, constructed of brick, a small stream running through it, just to paint a more accurate visual picture) on the "occupied side" there is a small circle, 2 or 3 houses, nothing all that close to the tunnel itself. The unoccupied side lets out to a hill that rises into a wooded area, a house once stood roughly 100 feet back into the wooded area.
Screaming tunnel gets it name from the following, A man, his wife and their daughter once occupied the house, one day the man (a heavy drinker) went nuts and slaughtered his wife, seeing his daughter he grabbed some kerosene and dowsed her in it, before being able to light a match his daughter took off out of the house and began running through the woods, eventually coming to the tunnel and taking refuge inside it, hoping to hide. While catching her breath her father caught up to her, and burned her alive in the tunnel. The backstory is true, I'll link some relevant material in a bit.
So anyway the tunnel is supposedly haunted, and to induce the ghost you're supposed to walk into the tunnel in the dead of night with a wooden match, once there you're to light the match and after it burns for a second or two it's suppose to flare up and the screaming of the girl is supposed to be heard quite clearly.
I've done this countless times and never experianced a reaction.
there was one time (when i was younger), my younger brother and I used to sleep in the same room, my bed in the corner opposite a window, and my brother's bed under the window.
one night (or morning if it was after 0000 hrs), i woke up to see a large "shadow" with the shape of a man standing at the foot of my bed. because this man was very dark/shadowy (even though the room was fairly lit and my eyes were adjusted for the dark), i couldn't tell if he was looking at me or my brother. this scared me, so i closed my eyes for a few seconds. i opened them again and the shadow was gone. i didnt hear any noises of the shadow leaving, even though the door for the bedroom was to the side of my head.
Thats a wonderful story borg,Ive read loads about shadowmen, quite common.
another thing that really freaked me out is while the family was out in the kitchen (i could hear them chatting), i went off to the study, where all the lights nearby were off (i could still see with the kitchen light), i started to enter the study and all of a sudden from the roof i hear some voice saying "Niiichollas...".
As a christian, whats your take on what youve experienced?
well, i talked to my parents about the events pretty soon after and they say, well, the roof thing if it happens again answer back with "i'm here", and the shadow thing they said was probably an angel. the angel thing i dunno what to believe, because i would imagine them to shine brilliantly with light, but on the flip side, what intruder disappears into thin air.
but my take on paranormal things? i wouldnt really know whether to believe them all or not, but with God, anything's possible (although i doubt he would do something like make a screaming tunnel or something)
Ghosts? i think that's bollocks. my belief is that when you die, your soul travels out somewhere where God judges you (Jesus as your "defence lawyer"), and depending on the choices you made on earth you are either damned or not. there no "limbo" on earth where someone's soul might be trapped to spook people nearby.
crap.... i think im in trouble
Thanks for your insight borg.
ur welcome, and now i take my leave to watch the jack bauer power hour

There was time we as a "civilization" thought the world was flat. WE WERE at the center of the universe. It revolved around us. People were put to death for thinking otherwise. We laugh at that thought now, but to them it was real, there was no other way. They were closed minded. We still have that same thought process with us today in different ways.
I watch very little regular TV. I don't like it. It's all brain washing, mind wasting, fill your head full of what they want you to think. I read a lot, when I have time. I like to watch educational TV programs. So, I'm very much into scientific information. However I have also had things happen in my life time that I can't explain. They did indeed happen. Because I or the scientific community as a lot can't explain it, does it mean it therefore didn't happen.
Close minded people with egos don't help out. I have an ego which holds me back. My ego says I'm a nub, and a good one at that. Scientific reality dictates I'm an old nub and not very good at it.
Just remember to keep an open mind.
And as for you borgdrone89, I've got a bone of contention to pick with you!
Why the hell are you setting across the street watching me with a very powerful telescope. Your more than welcome to come over. You can check out my 3 ton crane system I'm just finishing up. If not that, then you could always hang around as I start to fabricate the A36 21x57 and 18x46 steel beams for a 37.5 ton rated cable stay bridge I'll be starting soon. If that doesn't work I have a nice collection of Zeiss/Leica/Lietz glass you might like to have a gander at. If all else fails, you can come in and try out 4 various gaming PC while I work my ass of in the back yard on the steel fabrication.
You tricky little spy you>
Hooray for the opened minded old Nub!
Talking about paranormal stuff, I was actually checking out Spring Heeled Jack, because I got side-tracked from looking at one of the quests in Oblivion. But apparently, he's kind of like the bogeyman. Take a look.
This will probably sound like I'm crazy, but here it goes:
(Sorry if I make a lot of errors, it's been a long day)
My wife recently got pregnant and we decided to get out of our apartment and buy a house because we needed more space. Anyway, we got a really good deal on 5 acres with a house that was built in 1904 on it. It seemed to be in great condition (expecially with it being as old as it is) so we talked to our realtor and decided it was the thing for us. Shortly after we moved it, we started to notice strange things. For instance, one time I had set the table for dinner, and had all of the forks and knives out, the plates, glasses, napkins, everything. Since I can remember I've been putting the forks on the left and the knives to the right. Anyway, I went outside to have a cigarette (I was the only one home) and when I came back in the silver ware was reversed and all the plates had been turned upside down. I didn't really know what to think at the time, (or what to do for that matter) but I decided not to tell my wife because I didn't want to get her worried. A couple of weeks went by without anything happening and I had completly forgoten about it. Then one night, I got up at about 3:15 AM to go to the restroom. As I was drying off my hands from the sink, I heard a noise like something was breaking in the kitchen. So I walked in to see what it was, and the dish washer was open (it had been closed and turned on before we went to bed) and three plates were probably 10 to 15 feet away, broken on the linoleum. I cleaned it all up, and went to bed. The next day, I decided to go online and do some research on ghosts and spirits, and I read that if someone dies violently, that sometimes their soul is damned to walk the earth as a spirit. I don't really believe in stuff like that and just thought that it was nonsense, but went ahead and looked up property records to see who had lived here before us. As it turns out, a rich widow back in the early 1930's had bought the house right after her husband died. Two weeks after she moved in, one of her friends came over and found two house keepers murdered and the woman had hung herself in the bedroom where my wife and I sleep. We will be moving out soon because it's pretty creepy to know that there was once a dead woman hanging above my bed, and I really don't want to raise my child in a place like this. If anything else happens, I'll post it here.
I dont actually believe in ghosts myself, well not in the sense that they are concious and able to make actual, meaningful decisions,However,I do believe that energy remains in places, very powerful energy capable of the types of incidents that you describe.
dont let your mind play tricks though,i seriously doubt whether yourself, wife or child are in any peril.the most harm from these incidents is done by ourselves,as we tend to read more into these occurances than need be.please do let me know if anything else happens.
thats creepy but cool. you should definitely live there
i dont know splicer, my sister used to talk to....... things, ghosts? i dont know, but all i know is they were two little girls and then they turned on her....became evil.... weeks later, mum was at a funeral and met a person there that used to live at our address and he had two daughters there that were hit and killed by a train

i see no problem with living in places like these. seriously its nothing to worry about. of course i probably think the way i do because im a christian. sure its scary but as a good veggietales song went "God is bigger than the..boogeyman." etc.
I doubt that the poltergeism and whatnot in houses is actually from the souls of people that may have died there ages ago; more like the house is "possesed" by demons that like to live up to these pretenses society has developed pertaining to "haunted houses" and the like.
It would be simple enough (and all that I would need to do) for me to walk into such a house and command the demons to leave in Jesus' name.
which brings me to the exorcisms and things. why do they need holy water and stuff to drive out the demons. are they just so little in faith that they can't depend on the power of Jesus' name? the "holy water" is powerless.
another 2 cents from me.
i dont know if this can be considered paranormal but it's funny:
yesterday me and my brother played a game where you listen to the radio (we listened to virgin radio) and if you know the song you have to say for example "zero one" and then you have to say the right name of the band/singer... if you are really good you can add the name of the song and album . so whatever... my brother just owned me at the first song and then i thought to my self: "i hope the next song is 'don't fear the reaper' by blue öyster cult because then i win"
and guess what... they really played it i shouted it out after 1sec and was really flabbergasted about the coincidence... or was it something else?
i thought about this song because i just had finished Prey...
haha... I have a blue oyester cult CD... dunno how the hell I got it... I just have an odd memory of finding it and listening to it as a small (like... two years old) child... o.O maybe thats why I like rock... I still have that same CD I think...
Disclaimer: The following may include, but is not limited to, bas spelling, grammar, and general abuse of the English language. Not sutable for all ages.
I was originaly going somewhere with that last post... but I forget where. But anyway, my 'paranormal' experience has to do with cleaning my room.
Before I delve into the room cleaning stuff... I'll talk about my take on it and backroudn stuff...
Ok, I'm Catholic (sad thing is that I had to look up the spelling wrong 'cause I thought I had it wrong the first time... but I had it right... >.<) so, I don't particularly belive in this stuff in general. I know these to stupid girls that my friend hangs around with who were talking non-stop about some stupid ouiji board (pronounced Wiji, dunno how to spell it... just that it has a weird spelling). They were all excited about it. I kept on telling them that it was just bull-- dang, forgot the language rule... but you get the idea. But they were using the dang thing for hours (thats what they said) and that it worked everytime and that it gave apropriate answers for questions. Note I personaly think it's just your hands moving to what their sub-conscience wants, which could be a very interesting way for phycolgists to examine certain subjects (logic and such like this has always interested me A LOT, and I don't know why). but yeah... now that I've rambled about that... I'll talk about my room.
Ok, I was recently cleaning my room (still havn't finished, but definatly made progress, before you could take a cross section of my room and lable 'eras' of my life with the junk here... haha) and so I was taking old broken toys and trash and putting it in (countless) trash bags. But all the time I'd see something that I'd swear I had just thrown away. I'd pick it up, and put it in the trash bag. I'd think to myself that it had fell out of an over filled trash bag... but how did it get on the other side of the room? I might have accedentaly kicked it dragging my feet, but I'd probably notice that. This happens a WHOLE LOT when I clean my room. And once (really gross...) I found a bug in my room (the but isn't the gross part, its that it is in my room...) so I put like a (it was like a card box or maybe a bottle cap, I forget what exactly, but of that nature) containter on top of it so I could deal with it without actually touching it. I kept the thing in sight the entire time. I grabbed a not card, but it to the side of the cap/box so that I could scoop it up once I lifted up the container. I never got the chance. It was gone, completley. I thought it might have gone into the carpet, it wasn't very thick and not much time had elapsed since I saw it last. I combed apart the carpet fibers and not so much as a hint of there ever being a bug there. (it would probably have been far to big to actualy burry intself into the carpet anyway). Lots of stuff like that happens... I mean something would disapear and show up (specificaly my room) even right after I/we were SURE we had checked there. I would give credit to St.Anthony for my mis-placing something and him praying to God for me for it to show up (If it does indeed work that way, Although I'm only fourteen, I go to religious Ed. classes during the school year everyweek, and go to church every sunday, and there is still tons of stuff I don't fully know). But also, ALL THE TIME I find certain things (specifically owned by my mom or sister, never my fathers stuff o.O) such as a shirt or (same one every time, I'll find it for you guys) book owned by my mom or some non discript trinket owned by my (currently) eight year old little sister (three cheers for bio-shock role playing!) would (repeditivley) show up in my room. They would say they didn't put it in there, and have no recolection of ever doing such.
Also, I think I've had my share of 'shadow men' before, I just can't think of any specific incedents. Once though, as I don't actualy sleep much, I listen to the radio (metal puts me to sleep o.O) until I drift out of coinscienceness. But before that happened, I looked twards my window. Nothing out of the ordinary, just the blinds slightly ascew as usual. Until this flash lights my room. My next thoughts happen in what feels like hours, but couldn't be longer than a full second. At first I expected it to be lightning, but there was no boom, then my next thought, a bit more unnerving, was a stalker with a camera. I grabbed my kindergarden T-ball league bat (yes, feirce I know...) and throw open my window. There was no-one to be seen. Because of how my house is arranged, my yard is the largest on the block. We have a corner house, but it isn't angled twards the road, but the corner, thus the driveway curves strangley. Also, the property is the equivilent of two other houses added together from my block. I assume that is for compensation for the mass confusion of how my adress works (my house's driveway is on one road, but the adress is on another, it's more confusing to actually have pizza ordered than linear algebra is to teach to a kindergardener. But then again, the house was also a bit cheaper than usual, haunted? haha). But I see no one, and my back yard is very large with no where for someone to hide. I was wearing my jeans (and I'm well built, mwuahaha) so I go outside shirtless in all of my buff glory, shout at bushes and pounding the crap out of my shed (there is a huge hole in the friggen thing now, lol). If anyone was there I would have been able to see them, then probably turn them into a parapalegic. T-ball bats I'm sure are like those thunder sticks that police officers used to (still do?) use in the UK. I know that probalby isn't what they are called. Point is, they are similar enough to be compared to them, except without the design feature of being non-lethal. lol
Eventualy my parents come out seeing what the hell I'm doing and I say I thought I saw someone out there. We had the police in the fron driveway anyway, and they didn't see anything. Once again, because of unique geographical features of my property, the police can see you before you can see them if you are speeding down the street. So my house usualy has a police officeroccupying my diveway once a week. Safest house in the neighbor hood, although I live in a really really low crime rate area. Shadow man person thingy?
yeah... so, between my interdimensional room, and the 'shadow men' I've had my share of the 'paranormal'
the flash was from the outside btw, forgot that I left that out... I had a question I was gonna ask... but I forget what it was.. >.<
