Idea for a new Bioshock
I have an idea for the next Bioshock. It takes place in an industrial, underground city based around a social hierarchy. You have the privileged, who are the leaders and their families, and the grunts, who are everyone else. The grunts work to mine out, and expand the city, and they can spend their extremely small pay checks on three things: food, utilities, and mechanical augmentations. The grunts can pay for augmentations to increase their survive-ability and productivity in the mines. The whole moral idea is how much can a human change before he can no longer be considered human. Most of the augmentations -at least on the grunts side- are very obvious, somewhat rudimentary, And entirely based around being as functional and efficient as possible. You're a police officer who was sent to a supposedly abandoned building on reports of people entering and leaving the building, when you're ambushed, and are dragged into an elevator. You here knocking on the top the elevator and sawing sounds. Soon after, it goes into free fall. It crashes and you black out. When you wake up, you're missing an arm. You're able to stumble your way through some shantytowns, where you find an engineer, who is willing to give you a mechanical arm and a small pickax in exchange for your firearm. you accept. All of the upgrades (increased ammo capacity, the ability to shoot fire, damage reduction, etc.) are based around augmenting your body with machinery. There are some people who have gone to far with these augmentations. These are the foremen. Basically this games version of the Big Daddy. More machine than man, these people have taken the final step to being a machine. One last augmentation. One that they didn't have to buy, because they had no choice in the matter. A mind control chip. A small device that turned these sentient human beings into little more than guard dogs.
These are some of my ideas for the next original city to come out of this series. Let me know what you think.
Considering the ending in BaS 2, Bioshock is a closed book. Any future content, if any, has to take place in Rapture or Columbia, otherwise it isn't Bioshock!

Well Elizabeth couldn't have been Elizabeth because there was no more Comstock... so there was no Comstock to take Elizabeth from Booker thus Elizabeth couldn't stop Booker from becoming Comstock and thus it starts an Infinite loop of contradictions... sort of like a paradox, if some one else can phrase it better feel free to correct me

The city would exist in a world that would be a combination of Los Angeles and the virtual world that existed in the Matrix movies. Throughout this city's history, there have been two factions at war, one upper-class and one lower-class. Each faction at certain periods was the dominant class and during other periods the weaker class. The power between the two classes have alternated over time, neither side knows who started the war, and neither faction wishes to negotiate with the other because so many innocent people have already died. You begin at your parents' mansion, attending a party celebrating your graduation from the Corporation's police academy.

I think the next bioshock game should be a teleporting city in Africa during the 1800s. The city is unstable and will teleport at random times to different locations far away from advanced cities of the time. It can go from desert, to dense jungle, to a montain and any other environment. The reason being Africa is that this can incorporate an arab society which were more accepting of alchemy, which will give a more scientific reason for the strange city. A group of british, or french soilders as well as an African tribe can also be thrown into the mix.
Using alchemy this society will create a substance which will alter the state of things in a quantum mechanical way, to do with superposition. For example a person can be both alive and dead at the same time i.e. a zombie, or be both a human and a leopard thus being a were-creature. This substance will reveal the pure nature of something and allow it to be manipulated creating a plasmid type effect. One of the powers could be to use phosphorus for fire. Set in this time period swords and spears will be just as common as muskets and revolvers creating an interesting mix to combat.
Here's Part 2 of my basic idea for the new Bioshock:
In the game, the city is controlled by the Corporation, the military firm in charge of fighting mercenaries of the opposing faction. As an officer of the Corporation, you kill several militants and criminals of the other faction as well as innocent poor civilians from the poor faction, only you don't initially know they are innocent. Two of these are you biological parents, and when the Corporation finds out they are your real parents, your adopted parents abandon you and Corporate officers hunt you down. Eventually, you find a group of mercenaries from the opposing faction and fight alongside them as a group of four. Later in the game, your group sees that some of your comrades are killing some of the innocent rich people and stop them. At this time, you also discover that the power between the two factions have alternated between one another throughout the city's history and no one knows who started it. One side fighting to keep the other from killing their innocent and ruling over them, and the other side fighting to stop the other from killing their innocent and to overthrow the corrupt faction. Seeing no alternative, you and your last surviving teammate fight on, ready to kill the CEO before you wake up in a dark lab room in a facility located off the coast of Spain. The year, 2016 (or whenever the game is released). Elizabeth's dead corpse from BaS EP1 also returns, preserved within a vita chamber.

As far as gameplay suggestions, I would like to see your character have the ability to use plasmids/vigors in conjunction with their weapons for devastating effects. Another neat idea would be to have the ability to wear the defeated droids/heavy-hitters as a temporary suit of armor, each with their own unique powers (similar to a Super Mario Bros. power up). These suits would make players think about whether they wish to kill the easier enemies before dealing with the heavy hitter or kill the heavy hitter first and use the suit to kill the other enemies. The suits can act as a temporary shield for the player and could give them enhanced melee attacks, cannons, the ability to glide to the upper level of an area, or any other special ability. Once the suit takes too much damage, the player would remove the suit and revert back to their initial state. Some mechanical heavy hitters could even arrive as tanks, jets, or bikes and transform into a humanoid state, like a Transformer.

for my idea, it would take place in 1944 on the coast of Germany. A bomber pilot has his plane crash into a forest near the sea. after leaving the wreckage he will come across a light house that appears to be abandoned. Upon closer inspection he will find an elevator an underground city. The underground city, as the pilot would later find out is named Agartha and was built by the Nazi's as a safe haven from the war.
the city is also home to a death camp where jews are experimented on and worked to death. as the pilot explores the city he will be given surgical implants that will allow for increased agility and speed to allow for parkour type movements. as he movves to populated area he will be allowed, as a supplement for morality choices, the ability to actually use civilians as hostages or just out run the authorities/SS. As the man explores the city he will see that the Nazis had actually found some sea slugs like from but had not actually figured out its secrets. there will be the presence of tenenbaum as a teenager who you rescue and bring to the surface at the end.
What if the next Bioshock takes place in the early 70s and it was found one of the World Governments and they are sending in a task force to try to take Rapture for them selves. The Book Rapture had said that the Both U.S. and Russa some what new of something was going on.

The post was merely meant to tease my thoughts on what the next Bioshock game could include if the game is made. I notice that this thread has nearly 50,000 views which is strange considering that Irrational Games no longer exists. Companies are known for getting ideas from Internet blog sites such as Facebook and I'm not spilling a lot of details unless I am part of the creative team for the Bioshock sequel.
